Hitting 100 episodes is rare for a network comedy these days, and the trip fits the show's recent habit of getting the teachers and students out of the school. In Season 5, the series moved everyone to an abandoned mall for several weeks and filmed at a live Phillies game.
Disneyland episodes have a long history at ABC. Modern Family took the Dunphys there in Season 3, and The Goldbergs and George Lopez also filmed at the California park.
