Ben Affleck on losing both parents this year: "We only get so much time"
In a new interview on GQ's One More Question with Zach Baron, the 54-year-old opened up about losing both of his parents this spring. His dad, Timothy, died in April at 76, and his mom, Chris, died two months later in June after a battle with pancreatic cancer. She was 83.

In a new interview on GQ's One More Question with Zach Baron, the 54-year-old opened up about losing both of his parents this spring. His dad, Timothy, died in April at 76, and his mom, Chris, died two months later in June after a battle with pancreatic cancer. She was 83.
"You think about your own mortality and your own life and your own children and what you want to do with it," Affleck said. "And the bare fact of the very fleeting nature of all of our lives kind of stares you back in the face. And you realize, yeah, we only get so much time."
He remembered his mom as "pretty extraordinary and brave," and shared something she told him: "I had a great life and I have no regrets, but I thought 83 years would feel like longer."
