Brian May: "50 years is enough" of touring, but he "could never say never"
Is Queen done touring? Brian May has two answers.

In a new interview with The Times, May said he decided 18 months ago that he didn't want to tour again. "I love to play, I love to travel, but the trade-off is sacrificing your freedom," he said. "I have a wife, grandchildren, and a lot of astrophysics I want to do, so I'm thinking maybe 50 years is enough." He added that he has sketched out an immersive Queen show, but has "serious misgivings" about the AI it would need.
On Tuesday, May clarified on Instagram that his words had been mischaracterized: "I have actually never said Queen won't ever tour again. I could never say never. I simply made a personal decision last year to take a break from touring." He added that he and Roger Taylor are "constantly working together on Queen projects behind the scenes."
Queen + Adam Lambert last played live at the Tokyo Dome in February 2024.
