Christa Pike is believed to be the first person to survive a lethal injection
Christa Pike, 50, the only woman on Tennessee's death row, is believed to be the first person to survive a lethal injection.

Pike was given two lethal doses of pentobarbital at her Sept 30 execution in Nashville and survived. Her attorneys say she is conscious and speaking. They say she remains hospitalized and handcuffed, with severe damage to her arm.
A court hearing on a motion to preserve evidence from the execution is set for today. Tennessee has not said whether it will attempt the execution again.
Pike was convicted of the 1995 murder of Colleen Slemmer.
