Reviewer Molly Mary O'Brien writes that Monét "stretches out" on the follow-up to her breakout album 'Jaguar II', pushing its retro sound into swoony midcentury ballads, big string arrangements and a softer, more romantic side. Monét has described the record as her "Thriller" to the "Off the Wall" of 'Jaguar II'.

The album features SZA on "See You in My Dreams", Kaytranada on "Reach Out" and an appearance from Bruno Mars, with "Let Me" as the first single. The review calls the guests less memorable than Monét herself and says the tracklist is "less-than-focused," but concludes that "this is a meticulously polished collection of songs."
